Epic Games gives out $75,000 in Unreal Dev Grants to European indies


Epic games is awarding more small studios that use its game-creation tools.


The company has given out $75,000 to five European indie developers as part of its Unreal Dev Grants, which rewards groups that use the company’s Unreal Engine 4. Epic has so far awarded $1.4 million as part of the program.


The new recipients include:

    • Everspace by Rockfish games, a single-player 3D space shooter with rogue-like elements, a non-linear storytelling, and virtual reality comparability.
    • Jump Stars by Pixel Blimp, a game show-themed party game.
    • Thundersteed Ltd., which creates Unreal Engine learning resources.
    • The Siege and the Sandbox by Cardboard Sword, a stealth-based 2D platformer inspired by series like Metroid and Castlevania.
    • Stellar Overload by Cubical Drift, a voxel-based role-playing game set in an open world.
